Auditing Courses

Students may register to audit courses (meaning they take courses for no credit and no grade; only a "U" appears on the transcript) on a space available basis only, beginning with the first day of classes each semester. Payment is the same as for students taking the courses for credit.

The approval of the Registrar, Student Financial Services and instructor are required for an audit status.

NOTE:

  • Audit credits do not count toward financial aid eligibility.
  • Students may not change from credit to audit or audit to credit after the third week of classes.

Regular Audit

  1. Auditors must submit a completed registration form, signed by an advisor, on the first day of the semester.
Students must meet the College prerequisite(s) for the course they wish to audit. Students wishing to register as an auditor will not be registered until the first day of the semester.
  2. The student proceeds to register at the Registrar's Office as a regular registrant, goes to the Student Financial Services Office, SSC 202 to pay the tuition and returns to the Office of the Registrar with a receipt.  The student will then be given the Audit Permission Form to take to the instructor for signature.
  3. Once signed by the Instructor, the student proceeds to Financial Aid, SSC 104, for signature.  The student must return the signed Audit Permission Form to the Office of the Registrar for final approval and signature. The change to audit status will be data entered.
