What You'll Study in the CNA Program

The 120-hour Dutchess Community College CNA program offers convenience and flexibility, with evening and online classes at the Family Partnership Center in downtown Poughkeepsie and 30 hours of clinical placements at a local nursing home. After completing the program, graduates can take the NYS Department of Health Certification Exam.

Common Questions About CNA Certification

The program costs $1,595. Additional expenses include a physical, immunizations, TB test, text, uniform, and NYS DOH Certification Exam.

You'll need to attend an online orientation session first. Choose an upcoming session. If you have questions, contact the program coordinator, Professor Grutzner, at grutzner@sunydutchess.edu or call (845) 431-8911.

DCC offers CNA training sessions in spring, summer and fall. You can take evening and online classes at the Family Partnership (29 N. Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie), and you'll complete clinical hours in a variety of settings.
