Certified Production Technician 

The program teaches you to perform a wide range of hands-on technical skills in electronic, electrical, fluid power and mechanical systems. 

The course is recommended to employers seeking to improve the level of performance of production workers and to individuals looking for jobs in the manufacturing and equipment operation industry. No prior knowledge of manufacturing is necessary.

The program consists of four modules, each of which concludes in written and a hands on assessments: 

• Safety: On-the-job safety is critical to all manufacturing environments. Learn how to follow protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
• Manufacturing Processes & Production: Focuses on the ability to operate manufacturing equipment and ensure efficiency while maintaining production flow.
• Maintenance Awareness: Covers the basic understanding of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Quality Practices and Measurements: Learn how to ensure that products meet established standards. 

Candidates must earn the four certificates to receive the full production technician (CPT 4.0) certification.

This class is hybrid.  You will complete some asynchronous online coursework each week as well as attend in-person labs in the Mechatronics Lab at the Center of Excellence for Business, Industry and Innovation in Fishkill.

• Maintenance module: start date 9/11/2025, end date 10/30/2025
• Quality module: start date 11/20/2025, end date 12/18/2025
