Proficiency Exams

We offer 4 pathways for students to Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) -- the process DCC uses to evaluate learning that happens outside the college classroom. Proficiency Examinations are one of those pathways. As a matriculated (degree- or certificate-seeking) student, you may earn credits for courses that are specifically required in their curricula by achieving acceptable scores on departmental proficiency examinations. Make sure to plan ahead as the process can take at least 30 days.
