Placement Tests

Dutchess Community College utilizes a system of multiple measures for course placement into math and English courses.

Multiple measures are the official placement tool for the College and students can find more information by visiting the following links:

Students should only test for math and English placement upon referral from an advisor, Admissions, and/or faculty. For current information about whether placement testing is required, please visit your Application Status Portal. Log in using the credentials you created when you applied.

All students entering the College who do not show proof of successful completion of applicable college-level biology will be automatically placed into BIO 030 - Introduction to Biology. If students have knowledge of human anatomy and wish to attempt to place into a higher level of biology, they may sign up to take our Science Placement Test. This exam places students in BIO 030, BIO 130, or BIO 131.

The Testing Center has availability in person as well as remotely (online). All appointments are by APPOINTMENT ONLY.
