You will practice grammar, reading, writing, listening and speaking. You can take classes from beginner to advanced. Online or in person. We offer group lessons and individual attention.

We'll Help You Get Started
We want to help you make the best of your learning time. So, let's make sure you're taking the right English courses. To sign up, your first step is filling out our interest survey.
Once we have your name, we'll send you a link to a placement test. You must complete the test before you can register for classes. The placement test is only available during our open registration period.
How Much Does It Cost?
Support a Student! Help a student reach their academic goals with a donation to the Student Scholarship Fund. Donations directly cover course expenses for students in need.
LEARN MOREThe placement test is free. All ESL courses cost $25, payable online by credit or debit card. (The cost of books is extra.) Once you've completed your placement test, you can pay here. You will need your myDCC username and password. If you do not know your username or need assistance, please contact our office at esl@sunydutchess.edu or (845) 790-3590.
What if I Need To Stop Taking Classes?
Students may withdraw from a course with a full refund during the first three weeks of classes. After that, there is a $10.00 non-refundable fee. We can't offer additional refunds or transfers without significant, documented, and unavoidable reasons for course withdrawal.
In a word, flexible! We know you're busy, so we offer ESL classes online through Zoom or Google Classroom, AM or PM. Online classes are a blend of "live" group classes and assignments. Or you can take an in-person class. All classes are two days a week.
Take online (remote) classes at all levels. You will need a textbook and a computer, tablet or smartphone with WIFI.
You can take in-person classes in Amenia, Brewster, Fishkill and Poughkeepsie. Locations may vary by semester. Proof of Covid vaccination is required to register for in-person classes.
