Outstanding DCC students honored Monday, April 24 at Albany Capital Center in downtown Albany, N.Y.

Three Dutchess Community College students have received awards for excellence from the State University of New York (SUNY). It is the highest honor bestowed upon a student by the University.

Kaitlynn Lopez (Cornwall), Penny Lowry (Kingston) and Daniel O’Sullivan (Staatsburg) were among just 193 students from 63 SUNY campuses presented with Chancellor’s Awards for Student Excellence (CASE). The award recognizes the integration of SUNY excellence with many aspects of their lives, including academics, leadership, campus involvement, community service, and the arts (creative or performing).

SUNY Chancellor John B. King, Jr. said, “I am honored to recognize these students for the work they’ve done to better their communities, their generation, and our collective future. I’m honored to witness the growth of a generation of individuals like these and to work to support their educational pursuits.”
