On Saturday, February 27, Dutchess Community College will host the 2016 Hudson Valley
FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) LEGO League Tournament
championship matches, the culmination of eight regional qualifying tournaments, involving
over 1,000 children, which took place this winter. The regional championship features
teams of two to 10 children charged with using LEGO components to build small robots
that complete specific learning-themed missions. The competing teams have been working
on their robots since fall 2015 and the championship is the culmination of many months
of work. Teams hail from lower Westchester County through points north of Albany.
The event will be held in Falcon Hall Gymnasium from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (Snow
date: February 28) For more information, visit https://www.sunydutchess.edu/legoleague/.
