DCC Holiday Drives

Dec. 10, 2021--‘Tis the season for giving. And this year, as always, the DCC community is ready to come to the aid of those in need.

If you’re interested in making a difference for someone in our community this holiday season, the following organizations and groups would welcome your assistance.

This list will be updated regularly so check back often.


Who: Children's Home of Poughkeepsie.

What: The Children's Home wishlist includes electronics, video games, sporting equipment, board games and puzzles, room decor, art supplies, accessories, clothes, bath and body products, and gift cards. Check the detailed wishlist here

Where: Gift drop-off: at the Dec. 9 Holiday Gathering in the Ritz Lounge. Look for the specially-marked drop-zones. And until 4:30 p.m. Dec. 10 in Facilities. 

When: Thursday, Dec. 9, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday, Dec. 10, until 4:30 p.m.


Who: AWDCC Annual Holiday Giving Opportunity with River Haven Shelter. 

What: Items from a wish list developed by the shelter’s 30 residents. To grant one or more of the residents their holiday wish, please contact Bonnie Gallagher for details. 

When:  By Dec. 20.

Where: Gifts can be dropped off at the Francis U. and Mary F. Ritz Library. 

Also: Financial support or gift cards would be gratefully accepted; send to Bonnie Gallagher, who will do the gift shopping and wrapping.

Who: Nursing Club's Children's Home of Poughkeepsie Holiday Drive.

What: The Children's Home wishlist includes electronics, video games, sporting equipment, board games and puzzles, room decor, art supplies, accessories, clothes, bath and body products, and gift cards. Check the detailed wishlist here. 

Where: Gifts can be dropped off in the specially-marked box outside the Registrar's Office in the Orcutt Student Services Center. 


Who: The Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society Hygiene Item Drive - in support of The DCC Pantry.

What: Hygiene items: toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, feminine hygiene products, disposable razors, shaving cream, deodorant and nail clippers. 

Where: Drop-off points: the Center for Business and Industry; Allyn J Washington Center for Science and Art; DCC@Fishkill; Taconic; Falcon, Dutchess; Drumlin; Bowne and Hudson.

When: Ongoing.
