September 11, 2019 – The Dutchess Community College Foundation earned a 2019 Educational Fundraising Award
from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
The Foundation was recognized for exemplary program development based on a blind analysis
of three years of fundraising data. Specifically, the Foundation was acknowledged
for increased total support including an almost 45% growth in alumni donors, more
diversified and successful programs, meaningful impact of large gifts and more.
The Foundation raises funds to provide scholarships and support other college projects
that have a significant and direct impact on the students, faculty and staff. It awarded
approximately $800,000 for student scholarships and other educational initiatives
“These institutions have not only demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism
and best practice in their fundraising efforts, they have contributed to the betterment
of educational advancement worldwide by serving as a model to which others can aspire,” said
Sue Cunningham, CASE president and CEO.
Approximately 100 colleges across the country were recognized by CASE this year. The
award marks the first time the DCC Foundation has been honored by CASE.
CASE is a global association for professionals in alumni relations, communications,
development, marketing and advancement services who share the goal of championing
education to transform lives and society. Member institutions include more than 3,700
colleges and universities, primary and secondary independent and international schools,
and nonprofit organizations in 82 countries.
