DCC Names Bowman Associate Vice President for Human Resources

Dec. 17, 2021--Dutchess Community College has named Marc Anthony Bowman associate vice president for human resources. He will begin his new role on Jan. 11.

In his new role, Bowman will direct administrative oversight of DCC’s human resources functions in the areas of wage and salary administration, employee benefits and retiree services, recruitment and employment, professional development, labor relations, and performance management. He will also lead efforts to foster equal opportunity and fair treatment for faculty and staff, and guide the College’s ethical standards training and administration.

Bowman comes to DCC from FME, US LLC in Danbury, CT, where he served as the US region’s head of human resources operations for the last four years. Previously, he was the corporate manager of talent and development at Active Media Services in Pearl River, NY.

Bowman’s previous experience includes serving as human resources manager for Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, located in White Plains, NY, and as human resources plant manager at Cintas CleanRoom Resources in Newburgh, NY. He was also human resources management analyst and program training manager for the United States Military Academy based at Keller Army Community Hospital in West Point, NY. Bowman also served as a senior corporate recruiter at Scholastic World Headquarters, located in Danbury, CT. 

As an adjunct professor at Mount Saint Mary College, Bowman has taught graduate courses in human resources and the law since 2003. He is also bilingual in Spanish.

A DCC alum, Bowman holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Mount Saint Mary College. At Dutchess, he majored in business administration. 

Bowman holds senior professional in human resources (SPHR) certification, which recognizes mastery of the strategic and policy-making aspects of HR management as practiced in the US.
