Dutchess Community College is proud to offer academic advisement and support for military students and their family members. Our Certifying VA Official assists students in navigating the admissions, financial aid, registration, and graduation process to ensure a smooth transition from military service to degree completion.

DCC’s Veterans Resource Center, in room 212 of Hudson Hall, opened in 2015 to provide peer-to-peer support, mentoring and social networking. The space includes a study lab with computers and a printer as well as a lounge with a flat-screen TV, microwave, refrigerator and other amenities.

DCC is approved for study under the Title 38 US Code: Chapter 30 (New GI Bill®), Chapter 31 (Vocation Rehabilitation Act), Chapter 32 (Post-Vietnam Era Veterans Educational Assistance Act), Chapter 33 (Post 9/11 GI Bill), Chapter 34 (Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act), Chapter 35 War Orphans Educational Assistance Act), Chapter 1606 Montgomery GI Bill – Selective Service), Chapter 1607 (Reserve Educational Assistance Program – REAP), Army Tuition Assistance Program, National Guard & Naval Militia Tuition Assistance Program, and Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA).

Benefits for educational plans are determined by the VA certification process and DCC enrollment status.

We also offer:

  • Fee reimbursement for approved national proficiency exams.
  • Military transcript evaluation.
  • Assistance with nonacademic issues like career counseling and advisement on student clubs and social events.

The Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D. Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020 requires educational institutions to make certain disclosures to students using federal military and/or VA educational benefits. To view and print a copy of an estimated personalized cost of attendance you can visit the SUNY Net Price Cost Calculator and select Dutchess Community College from the dropdown.
