What is the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)?

The EOP office supports motivated students from New York State who, due to limited financial and academic preparation, have not had the same opportunity as others to achieve their academic potential. Our students demonstrate the ability to successfully complete a program of higher education if provided with support designed to ensure their academic success. EOP students are enrolled in the same degree-granting programs as other "traditionally" admitted students.

The EOP program at DCC is designed to provide students with a two-year college education and it serves students from a variety of circumstances and backgrounds that might otherwise present barriers to academic success. And, although each campus EOP program is slightly different, all campuses participating in the program offer financial aid as well as other services.

Most EOP students are first generation college students. The Program at DCC is run by caring and experienced staff who work to ensure that all students in the program have every opportunity to achieve their academic goals.
