About the Program
Dutchess Community College has been named as a supporting campus of SUNY’s inaugural Empire State Service Corps! Selected DCC students will do 300 hours of paid community service work (10 hours per week during the academic year). You'll also attend monthly meetings to discuss your service/impact, share your experience and what you're learning, and get to know other members. Some of these positions will be at DCC!

For 2025-26, ESSC Cohort Areas on campus at DCC include:
- Peer mental health
- Support for regional food banks and SNAP outreach to address food insecurity

Selected students will engage in paid public service work for 300 hours over the course of an academic year. Some students are placed in a cohort aligned with their interest areas and will serve at either an on-campus or community-based host site. This opportunity allows New York State students to be paid for meaningful work that can provide lifelong skills as well create lasting impacts in their community.
