Returning Student Re-Admission Checklist

Welcome back!

If you’ve been gone less than two semesters, simply meet with your academic coach from the ACT Center and register.

At DCC, you’ll find the community of support and resources you need to meet your education goals. If it has been two or more semesters since you have taken classes at DCC you must apply for re-admission.

Follow these steps to re-enroll and return to DCC.

Your First Steps

  1. Apply. Your first step is to complete your online re-admission application. You can check the status of your application online after you apply.
  2. Submit your official transcripts. If you have attended another school since leaving DCC, request transcripts be sent from that college. You may be asked to provide proof of high school graduation if this is not already in our records. 
  3. Apply for financial aid. If you would like to explore ways to help pay for school, it’s important that you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. Follow these steps to submit your FAFSA.

After You've Been Accepted

After you’ve been accepted, follow these steps to complete registration.

Depending on when you last attended school, you may be asked to take a placement test before you can register for classes. We will review your transcripts and let you know if a test is needed. If you need testing accommodations, contact the Office of Accommodative Services at (845) 431-8055 before your exam.

MORE ABOUT TESTING SERVICES

New York State law requires students born on or after January 1, 1957 to have health and immunization information on file with the College Health Service. If you are taking six or more credit hours, you are required to provide proof of immunity to measles, mumps and rubella before registering for classes. Immunization or medical records from your doctor may be provided as proof. 

Combine the quality, affordability and other benefits of a DCC education with the experience of living away at college. Make lifelong friends and have quick access to classes, student support services, dining services, the fitness center and all of the exciting on-campus activities and events.

LEARN ABOUT ON-CAMPUS HOUSING

You will receive an email invitation when it’s time to register for classes. Academic advisors are available to help you plan your schedule. To meet with an advisor, contact the Academic, Career and Transfer Center. 

You will receive an email if there are holds on your account preventing registration. These could include an outstanding financial balance or a missing proof of immunization. 

Check your myDCC account after registering for classes to access your bill. 

ACADEMIC, CAREER & TRANSFER CENTER

After signing up for classes, be sure to make payment arrangements through Student Financial Services office to hold your schedule. If you don’t pay your tuition or set up a payment schedule, you may be dropped from your classes.  

New York State resident? Make sure to show proof of residency to the Admissions Office to receive in-state tuition.  

 

ARRANGE PAYMENTS

To receive your DCC student ID and parking permit, bring your schedule and photo ID to the security office located in room 114 in the Student Services Center. 

Be sure to check your myDCC email account often. This is where you will receive important communication from DCC, including messages from your professors.
