Leigh Palmer was born in Westerly, Rhode Island. He earned his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and attended Boston University’s Graduate Film Studies program. Palmer was also the recipient of a MacDowell Colony Residency Fellowship.
Solo exhibitions of Palmer’s work have been held at Sherry French Gallery in New York City; Carrie Haddad Gallery, Hudson, NY; and James Cox Gallery in Woodstock, NY. He has also shown in numerous group exhibitions, including Bayly Art Museum, Charlottville VA; Basel Art Fair, Switzerland; and the National Museum of American Art, Washington, DC.
Institutional collectors include the National Museum of American Art, Washington, DC; The Bank of New York, Hallmark Cards, and the New School for Social Research.
