Program Overview

At its two campus-based facilities, DCC delivers a range of early childhood programs designed to meet the needs of students, employees and community members. Families are invited to tour classrooms, meet the teaching staff and explore offerings for children ages 18 months to 5 years at the Louis Greenspan Day Care Center and June Roush Pierson Laboratory Nursery School.

  • Licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, the Louis Greenspan Day Care Center provides full-day, year-round care for children from 18 months through pre-K. It also hosts a Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) classroom in partnership with the Poughkeepsie City School District, open to district residents whose children turn 4 on or before Dec. 1, 2025.
  • The June Roush Pierson Laboratory Nursery School provides a part-day, school-year program for children ages 3 to 5. It also serves as a hands-on learning environment for students enrolled in DCC’s Early Childhood associate degree and certificate programs.

What to Expect at the Open House

DCC staff will be available to discuss enrollment options, play-based curriculum and financial support that may be available. The event is also a chance for prospective students to connect with faculty and explore academic pathways in early childhood education.

Check-in begins at the Louis Greenspan Day Care Center lobby. Guests will be welcomed by staff and directed to classrooms in the center or to the June Roush Pierson Laboratory Nursery School, where teachers will be available to greet visitors.
