POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — MAY 5, 2025 — Three Dutchess Community College students were among 193 students from across the SUNY system recognized with the 2025 Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence, the highest honor given to SUNY students. They were celebrated alongside peers from 63 SUNY campuses during an April 29 ceremony at the Albany Capital Center.

Katelyn Oles (Hyde Park), Rahim Sow (Hopewell Junction) and KarissaLee Thompson (Hyde Park) were honored for their academic excellence, leadership and service during their time at DCC.

SUNY Chancellor John B. King Jr. wrote: “To this year’s awardees, I extend my heartfelt congratulations. Today, we honor you with the highest recognition given to a SUNY student, acknowledging your dedication and your excellence. We are proud of all that you have achieved here at SUNY.
