DCC will resume its popular in-person open houses this fall, offering three opportunities for new students and their families to explore the College's Poughkeepsie, Fishkill and Hudson Valley Regional Airport facilities.

The U.S. Department of Education has awarded Dutchess Community College a $2.2 million Title III grant to further strengthen efforts in areas such as advising; teaching and learning; diversity, equity and inclusion; and career pathways. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand made the announcement on Sept. 27, 2021.

Lindsey Guile, assistant professor of visual arts and director of the Mildred I. Washington Art Gallery, applied for and was accepted to fill one of only 12 visual artist slots available through the highly selective Blue Mountain Center's artist-in-residence program. Dutchess Community College will mark Hispanic Heritage Month with events including dance and art workshops, book exhibits, poetry conversations, lectures and a musical performance, all scheduled from Sept. 21 - Oct. 28. The important Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) re-accreditation process kicks into high gear this fall, with a tight schedule of action items including meetings with the College's MSCHE vice president liaison and the development of the first drafts of DCC's self-study.

Dutchess Community College is one of only eight community colleges in the nation recognized for its support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) students by Campus Pride, a leading LGBTQ+ campus rating and information index.

DCC will pause to reflect on the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, honoring and remembering those who perished, through a series of exhibits and observances starting Wednesday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Sept. 10.
