Telecommunications and Instructional Media

Satellite Videoconferencing

The Instructional Media Department provides satellite videoconferencing services. Conference facilities are available for audiences ranging from small groups of 15-20, up to 100 or more participants. These rooms are equipped with video projection equipment and a private telephone line for return communications to the origination site. The College can receive both C-Band and Ku-Band satellite transmissions.

Satellite conferencing is a cost-effective way to bring expert speakers, national events, and specialized training to local participants while incurring minimal travel time. Viewers may have the opportunity to interact with the presenters by phoned-in or faxed-in questions.

The facilities are available for use by outside groups through the Office of Community Services. Call (845) 431-8900 for further information.
