ARTICULATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN HOUGHTON COLLEGE & DUTCHESS COMMUNITY COLLEGE

A student from Dutchess Community College who has been accepted at Houghton College may transfer with the guarantee that his or her courses will fulfill given Houghton College requirements.


Those Completing A.A. and A.S. Degrees
a. Students transferring to the main campus (Houghton, NY) – A student with an A.A. or A.S. degree will have satisfied all core requirements (Integrative Studies) for a Houghton College bachelor’s degree except two courses, Biblical Literature and Introduction to Christianity. Students who transfer at least 60 hours that are applicable toward a bachelor’s degree will automatically be classified as juniors.


The transcript of a student who has earned an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree, or accumulated credits at Dutchess Community College but have not earned a degree, will be evaluated course-by-course to determine which Houghton College integrative studies, major and minor requirements have been met.

Courses Acceptable for Transfer – Following a transcript review by Houghton College, courses (other than technical or vocational courses) in which the grade earned is C- or higher and which do not total (except for P.A.C.E.) more than 67 semester credit hours are acceptable for transfer.

This agreement does not guarantee acceptance to Houghton College. Each applicant’s record will be reviewed by the Houghton College Admission Committee.
