We offer tickets to local attractions at a discount for students. Tickets may be used for any date. No transportation is provided for these events. All discount tickets go on sale May 20, 2013.

Night at the Movies 

What’s better than sitting in comfort watching new releases at local theaters?  From May 20 to August 10, you pick the show and see it at a discount with these passes. Due to the popularity of this event there will be a limit of two student tickets and 5 guest tickets, for each theater, per week. Tickets for this event go on sale May 20th.

Six Flags: Great Adventure Discount Ticket

Use these discounted tickets to head down to Six Flags, in New Jersey, for a lot of fun. Six Flags Great Adventure is a world-class family entertainment complex filled with exciting world-class rides, fabulous shows and exciting attractions. Tickets are limited and good any day from March 27 until November 1. There is a limit of 1 Student and 1 Guest ticket for this event.   Tickets are limited and good any day from May 20 until October 13. Tickets for this event go on sale May 20th. No transportation is provided for this event.

Bowling Discount Cards

If you need some fun, try bowling. It just feels good to knock stuff down.  It’s a sport, a recreation or a night out. Everyone can do it. Hoe Bowl bowling consists of five fantastic centers, located in Wappingers, Walden, Poughkeepsie, Kingston and Catskill. There is a limit of 2 student tickets and 5 guest tickets per week. Tickets for this event go on sale May 20th.

SplashDown Beach Discount Pass

Cool off this summer at America’s biggest little water park. Enjoy the wave pool, water slides, the lazy river and other attractions all at a discounted price. There is a limit of 2 student tickets and 5 guest tickets per week. Tickets for this event go on sale May 20th.

Dorney Park and Wild Water Kingdom

Come challenge the “Talon”, Dorney’s first inverted coaster and see if you can escape its clutches. Blast off with the brand new “Meteor” which will swing you 65 feet into the air to be inverted with nothing between your feet and the sky. Or cool off in many of the exciting water rides.  Don’t forget your towel!  Tickets are limited and good any day from May 20 until October 31. There is a limit of 1 student and 1 guest ticket for this event. No transportation is provided for this event. Tickets for this event go on sale May 20th.

Broadway Play: “Kinky Boots”       
Saturday, June 15
Al Hirschfield Theatre       
Show Time: 2:00 p.m.

Harvey Fierstein and Cyndi Lauper adapt the film of the same name for the Broadway stage. Kinky Boots follows Charlie Price, who is forced to save his family’s shoe factory in Northern England after the sudden death of his father. Charlie finds inspiration in Lola, a fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos. As the unlikely pair works to turn the factory around, they find they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible. Bus leaves from “Lot E” at 10:00 a.m. and returns immediately after the show. Tickets for this event go on sale May 20th.

NYC Museum Trip        
Sunday, June 16

Hit the museums or just tour the city. We’ll drop you off and you can wander at your leisure.  Entrance fees to the Museum are not included. Bus leaves “Lot E” at 8:00 a.m. and leaves the city at 6:00 p.m. Tickets for this event go on sale May 20th.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. NY Yankees      
Game Time:  1:05 p.m.

See the Bronx Bombers take on their division rivals the Tampa Bay Rays. The bus leaves “Lot E” at 9:30 a.m. and returns immediately after the game. Tickets for this event go on sale May 20th.

NYC Day Trip        
Saturday, July 13

Here’s your chance to browse through the historical city for the day or take in all of its cultural and culinary delights.  Or, just shop till you drop!  Bus leaves “Lot E” at 8:00 a.m. and departs New York City at 6:00 p.m. Tickets for this event go on sale June 24th.

Major League Baseball

Philadelphia Phillies vs. NY  Mets     
Game Time: 1:10 p.m.

Come to Citi Field and be part of the excitement as the Mets play host to division rivals the Phillies. Bus leaves “Lot E” at 9:30 a.m. and returns immediately after the game. Tickets for this event go on sale June 24th.

Broadway Play: “Jersey Boys”       
Friday, July 26
August Wilson Theatre        
Show Time: 8:00 p.m.

Enjoy an evening in NYC and see the Broadway show Jersey Boys. Winner of the 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical, Jersey Boys tells the story of how Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons went from being unknown New Jersey kids to international pop superstars. The show features over 30 beautifully sung tunes, including “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.” Bus leaves from “Lot E” at 3:00 p.m. and returns immediately after the show. Tickets for this event go on sale June 24th.

NYC Summer Trip        
Saturday, August 3

Enjoy the sights and sounds of the big city. Walk through the park or go shopping, it’s all up to you. Bus leaves “Lot E” at 8:00 a.m. and leaves the city at 6:00 p.m. Tickets for this event go on sale June 24th.

PROGRAM GUIDELINES

NOTE:  You MUST be currently enrolled in summer 2013 credit bearing classes to be eligible to purchase tickets.  See the following for further guidelines.

1. Tickets for all trips are available on a first-come, first served basis in the Office of Student Activities located on the main floor of Dutchess Hall (D-201). 

Tickets for all discount tickets and June trips start for students:
Monday, May 20

Tickets will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Tickets for all other events start for students:
Monday June 24

Please note that the Student Activities Office is closed on Fridays in the summer.

Cash and Credit cards (Visa & MasterCard) are accepted. Please note there is a $10 minimum for credit cards.   NOTE:  YOU MAY ONLY PURCHASE TICKETS FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR GUEST(S).

2. Buses will leave the College at the stated time and will depart the activity no later than 10 minutes after the activity has concluded.  Students not returning on the bus must inform the escort.  If you miss the bus, it is your responsibility to obtain transportation to your destination at your own expense.  Students are responsible for their personal belongings and the College and any part thereof is not responsible for any personal damage or loss ensued while participating in trips sponsored by the Student Activities Program.

3. Your SUNYCARD ID CARD must be presented when signing up for events and when receiving tickets on the bus.  (A registration receipt is NOT acceptable.)  Tickets are non-transferable (i.e. you may not give tickets to friends or relatives).

4. Students may bring one guest per trip unless otherwise noted.

5. For trips where bus transportation is provided, ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO RIDE THE BUS.

6. REFUNDS – Refunds will be granted in full only if you bring in your tickets and receipt at least ten (10) school days prior to said event.  (PLEASE NOTE: NO refund will be granted for tickets returned less than 10 school days from the event.  However, an exception to this ruling is if the event is a “sell out” AND the returned tickets are re-sold.  Only under these circumstances will a refund be granted for tickets returned after the allowed return date.)

7. The open date policy for additional tickets for students and tickets for the general public is as such:  Each semester a date will be set whereby remaining trips will be opened up to the student body and general public.  The “open up” dates for the spring 2013 semester is

 For June Events:   Monday, June 3
 For July and August Events: Monday, July 8

8. The Student Activities Office reserves the right to suspend ticket sales to anyone who violates these guidelines.

GAS SAVER SPECIAL     
We offer you the option of meeting the bus at several locations.  When traveling south, buses will stop at Dutchess Community College South, Hollowbrook Plaza off Myers Corners Road.  When traveling north, buses will stop at Stop and Shop in Rhinebeck (in front of the store).  Pick up time for this stop is approximately 30 minutes after departure time from the college.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE PICKED UP AT THIS ALTERNATE LOCATION, YOU MUST INFORM US WHEN YOU PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS!
