50th Birthday Party & Fall Freshman Day The Economic Contribution of DCC DCC marks 50 years: Vision of quality, affordable education led to college's creation |
Legendary DJ, Bruce “Cousin Brucie” Morrow will be spinning discs at Dutchess Community College on Sunday April 6, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the gymnasium of Falcon Hall.
You’re invited to a 50s Sock Hop at DCC. Wear your finest fashions from the fifties and sixties, bring your dancing socks, and join us as we listen to the greatest popular music ever made. It’ll be a blast daddy-o! This free event is organized by DCC to thank the community for supporting the College for the past fifty years. Click here for your invitation. Rock and roll Hall of Fame radio legend, Bruce “Cousin Brucie” Morrow, is an iconic figure in the New York area as well as nationwide, known for his dedication to the music of the 1950s and 1960s. The Brooklyn born Morrow has been an anchor of the New York airwaves for more than 40 years, and has remained one of its most popular personalities. His career as a radio host has taken him from a friendship with Elvis Presley – who credited him for his success on radio- to introducing the Beatles with Ed Sullivan at one of their first American concerts. Cousin Brucie is an accomplished author and will be signing copies of his latest book “Doo Wop: The Music, The Times, The Era” at the Sock Hop on April 6. He has made numerous guest appearances on television and in movies and he works as a music consultant. Bruce is also an accomplished photographer and he serves as president of Variety, The Children’s Charity. He currently can be heard on Sirius Satellite Radio.
