On safety items for classroom orientation

  1. Fire Alarms:

    Evacuate a.s.a.p. in a safe manner. Familiarize yourself with the Exit Locations by perusing the "In Case Of Fire" diagrams usually found on the wall of the classroom by the door.

  2. Emergency Telephones:

    Inside buildings adjacent to all elevators and inside of all elevators. Exterior Lots-In all Parking Lots where the blue light is located.

  3. Escort Services:

    Available 24 hrs a day. Call 8070 or use one of the emergency telephones.

  4. Motorist Assistance Service:

    Call security for vehicle unlocks-you must present some proof of ownership and sign a college waiver. Battery Jump start.

  5. Emergency Services:

    Call security for medical assistance, for ambulances and other Emergency Services. Security has a direct link with 9ll.

  6. Close Circuit Television:

    There are numerous cctv's located inside buildings and outside in parking lots for your protection. Security personnel both actively and passively (tape) monitor these cameras 24 hrs daily. Only College and law enforcement personnel are allowed access for viewing.

  7. Counseling-Stress and other emotional problems:

    Counseling is available to students via the Counseling Dept. Located at Dutchess Hall. Call  (845) 471-8040 for an appointment or in an emergency, just come.

  8. Orders of Protection:

    Notify the Security Department when you are in possession of a court issued Order of Protection. Security Personnel will check on you throughout the semester either randomly or by actual escorts if you request this service.

  9. Incidents:

    Notify security if you observe an incident or some action that may not appear "right". Examples: someone selling or offering drugs, soliciting money, loitering, in parking lots, arguments, ect.

  10. Lost and Found:

    Report all lost items to security after you have searched the immediate area. Found items will be forward to the College's Lost and Found department, located at Security Office in the Student Services Building.

  11. Alcohol and other Drugs:

    Possessions , use, sale, exchange of narcotics, drugs or alcoholic beverages on campus is prohibited.

  12. Weapons:

    Knowingly having possession upon any college premises, of any rifle shotgun, pistol or other firearms or weapons without the written authorization of the chief administrative officer or his/her designee is prohibited by New York State Law and the college rules.
