The Dutchess County 40/8 Voiture #502 Nursing Scholarship One award of $500
This organization, affiliated with the American Legion, has fully endowed this scholarship, which is awarded to a full-time, second-year nursing student.


Dutchess County Home Bureau Scholarship

One award of $500

The Dutchess County Home Bureau is an organization of women whose goals are community service, consumer education, health, and safety education. The scholarship is awarded to a second-year student enrolled in the nursing program.

 


Sonny Frasier Memorial Scholarship

One award of $500
This scholarship was established by the friends and family of Arnold "Sonny" Frasier, a Veteran of World War II and an American Legion member who served as chairman of the Legion's Nursing Committee. The applicant must be a Dutchess County resident, registered at DCC in the nursing program, who has achieved at least 20 credits with at least a 2.50 cumulative point average.

 


Drs. Florence H. and Elvin E. Gottdiener Memorial Scholarship
One award of $500
Elvin Gottdiener was a prominent Poughkeepsie physician. This memorial scholarship, established by his wife, Dr. Florence Gottdiener, is continued by his family today. It is awarded to a full-time, second-year student enrolled in a medically-related field.

 


Hudson River State Hospital Nurses Alumni Scholarship

One award of $500
This scholarship is awarded by the Hudson River State Hospital Nurses Alumni to a full-time, second-year student enrolled in nursing. The student must be a Dutchess County resident.

 


McCann Foundation Scholarship

One award of $900
The McCann Foundation was established by James J. McCann, a local feed and grain dealer. Grants are given each year by the Foundation for community service, recreation, religion, arts, and education. The McCann Foundation Scholarship is awarded to a full-time, second-year student who is a Dutchess County resident.


Millbrook Tribute Garden, Inc. Scholarship

One award of $1,000

This scholarship was established by the Millbrook Tribute Garden, Inc. This award is given to a second-year, nursing student who is a Dutchess County resident with a preference to a resident of the Town of Washington.


Margaret Miller Memorial Scholarship

One award of $500
This scholarship was established by Sigmund Miller, a Pleasant Valley resident and businessman, in memory of his wife, Margaret, who was a nurse. It is given to a full-time, second-year nursing student.


Martha Reifler Myers Memorial Nursing Scholarship                 One award of $1,000                                                                   This scholarship was started by Charles Conklin, a local businessman to honor Martha for her foresight and generosity in helping Mr. Conklin start Conklin Industries. This award is for a second-year Nursing student who has demonstrated out-standing academic achievement and the necessary personal attributes to become a dedicated nurse.


Saint Francis Hospital Nursing Scholarship

Unlimited number of awards of full tuition, fees, and books

Saint Francis Hospital is proud of its nurses and honored to invest in nursing students with the desire and commitment to care. Nursing students who have received this scholarship have gone on to do great things. Applicants must be matriculated in the Nursing Program and have achieved a 3.00 GPA.  In addition, applicants must submit two faculty recommendations and a hospital application form available in the DCC Nursing Department Office.  Following graduation, there is a commitment to work at Saint Francis for a minimum of two years.


Vassar Brothers Medical Center Scholarship

Three awards of full tuition, fees, and books (up to $3,500 per award)

Vassar Brothers Medical Center is dedicated and committed to the advancement of the nursing profession by supporting individuals who are enrolled in the nursing program at DCC by sponsoring the Vassar Brothers Medical Center Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a second-year student who has achieved a 3.00 GPA and is academically motivated in pursuing a degree in nursing.  Applicants must submit two faculty recommendations and a hospital application form available in the DCC Nursing Department Office.  Following graduation, applicants must agree to work at VBMC for a minimum of two years.
