The Business Administration Career Scholarship
One award of $500
This scholarship was established in 1981 to reward academic excellence by a full-time, second-year student studying business administration.
Betty J. Canfield Memorial Scholarship
One award of $500
The friends and family of Betty J. Canfield have established this memorial scholarship to be awarded to a full-time student matriculated in the accounting program. The recipient must be a full-time student who has acquired 24 or more academic credits and has achieved a CPA of at least a 2.75.
Dutchess County Association of Realtors Scholarship
One award at $500
This scholarship is funded annually by the Dutchess County Association of Realtors. The applicant must be full-time, have completed 24 or more academic credits, have taken at least two courses in business administration at DCC with a minimum CPA of 2.50, and have a keen interest in the field of business.
Alicia Hicks Forster Memorial Scholarship in Merchandising and Retailing
One award of $700
This scholarship was established by James V. Forster in memory of his mother, Alicia Hicks Forster, who operated a dress shop in the City of Poughkeepsie for a number of years. The funds are administered by the Community Foundation of Dutchess County to assist a business technologies student at DCC. The applicant must be a Dutchess County resident, majoring in merchandising, retailing, or a closely allied field. He/she must be a matriculated, full-time student who has completed at least 20 credits with a CPA of at least 2.50.
George N. Freedman Memorial Scholarship
One award of $500
George Freedman was a professor in the Department of Business Technologies from 1965 until his untimely death in 1986. His strong connections with the local retail community and the admiration of his peers and students led to the creation of this scholarship in his memory. It is awarded to a second-year student enrolled in a business administration program.
Ginger Mancuso Memorial Scholarship
One award of $1,500
This scholarship was established by the friends and family of Ginger Mancuso, a DCC graduate who was actively involved with local restaurants and community functions. It is awarded annually to a non-traditional student in the business administration program who is motivated to pursue the fields of hospitality or tourism management. The applicant must have acquired 24 or more credits with a CPA of at least a 2.75.
McCann Foundation Scholarship
One award of $900
The McCann Foundation was established by James J. McCann, a local feed and grain dealer. Grants are given each year by the Foundation for community service, recreation, religion, arts, engineering, technology, and education. The McCann Foundation Scholarship is awarded to a full-time, second-year student who is a Dutchess County resident.
Millbrook Tribute Garden, Inc. Scholarship
One award of $1,000
This scholarship was established by the Millbrook Tribute Garden, Inc. This award is given to a full-time, second-year, department of business student who is a Dutchess County resident with preference to a resident of the Town of Washington.
The Stop & Shop Supermarket Scholarship
Two awards of $1,500
DCC students in either the retailing or business administration programs can qualify for this scholarship, which rewards academic excellence in those two curriculums. Students must be full-time, have at least a 3.80 GPA.
TEG Federal Credit Union Scholarship
One award of $500
As a long-time community supporter, TEG Federal Credit Union generously endowed this scholarship to help students attain a college education. This award is given to a full- or part-time, second-year, department of business student who has achieved academic excellence.
The Edwin A. Ulrich Charitable Trust Scholarship
Three awards of $1,000
The Ulrich Charitable Trust of Hyde Park funds three scholarships for second-year students in the Department of Business. The Ulrich Charitable Trust, in keeping with the wishes of Edwin A. Ulrich, provides this funding for promising business students.
Ulster Savings Bank Scholarship
One award of $500
Understanding the need to help the students of the Hudson Valley, Ulster Savings Bank generously endowed this scholarship. This award is for a full- or part-time, second-year department of business student who achieves academic excellence.
UHY LLP Certified Public Accountants Scholarship
One award of $500
The regional office of this national accounting firm has had a long standing association with DCC, and generously established a scholarship to be awarded to a full-time, second-year student enrolled in accounting.
Westage Companies Scholarship
One Award of $500
The Westage Companies have been supporters of many local economic development efforts in Dutchess County. This scholarship is awarded to a full- or part-time 2nd year student in the Business Administration program in the hopes that they will become local business leaders.
