April 19, 2010 – The Dutchess Community College Office of Community Services has just announced a series of entertaining and enriching summer youth programs in a variety of areas including sports, art, science, computers, music and study skills. Full- and half-day sessions are available and after-hours childcare is offered for an additional fee.
Sports academies include those in golf, baseball, softball and basketball.
The computer academy includes instruction in programming languages, web design, photo editing and more for students in grades 6-11, while children in grades 3, 4 and 5 can participate in Introduction to Computing.
Enrichment Academies, geared for children ages 6-11, feature arts and crafts programs, as well as classes in storytelling and much more. In addition, the Mad Science series offers experiences with robotics, chemistry, space and astronomy and more.
In addition, a number of music and theater programs are available, such as Cultural Expressions Through Guitar/Dance/Song, the Summer Piano Institute and the Performing Arts Institute.
