March 21, 2014 – Dutchess Community College’s Kids & Teens on Campus program will give youngsters between the ages of 6 and 17 the chance to spend part of their summer enjoying programs such as Outer Space, American Time Travel, Adventures in Computing, Web Design, Videography, Golf, Piano and much more.
Week-long Explore and Learn programs, for children ages 6-11, include Harry Potter’s Magic Adventure, Building and Constructing, Mysteries and Detectives and many others. Two-week Computer Academies feature programs such as Computer Hardware, Lego Robotics and more. The Golf Academy includes two programs for beginner and intermediate players, respectively, and Music programs feature the Summer Piano Institute and Performing Arts Institute.
DCC’s Geek Camp, in its second year, consists of three separate two-week classes, with two sections available for each. Graphics – 3D Blender Software, Game Design and Android App Development will be offered June 30 – July 11 and July 14-25. The Android class is geared toward kids in grades 7-12, while the 3D Software and Game Design courses are for those in grades 9-12. A brand-new Documentary Film Workshop at DCC will give students in grades 10-12 the opportunity to learn every aspect of documentary film production while creating an original film.
