November 14, 2013 – The Music School at Dutchess Community College – part of the College’s Office of Community Services and Special Programs – is collaborating with St. Peter’s School in Hyde Park to offer Kindermusik classes for young children and families.
Kindermusik Village offers musical movement, social interaction, playing of simple instruments and more to children up to 18 months in age and their parent or caregiver. It will be offered Tuesdays from January to March at St. Peter’s School.
For toddlers 18 months to 3 years, Kindermusik: Our Time will be held Tuesdays from January to April at St. Peter’s. The class offers parents and children the opportunity to sing, move, interact with others and play simple instruments. In addition, students and parents can choose to attend two Family Fun classes where brothers, sisters, grandparents or other family members are invited to join the child and parent to sing, dance and play instruments, among other activities. The Family Fun classes will be held either at DCC’s Poughkeepsie campus or at DCC South in Wappingers Falls.
All of the classes will be taught by Laura Doe, a member of the Music School at DCC faculty and a music teacher at St. Peter’s.
