April 18, 2014 – Concerts by Dutchess Community College’s Chorus and Jazz Ensemble and the Mid-Hudson Community Orchestra will take place in May in the James and Betty Hall Theatre on the main college campus in Poughkeepsie. All are free and open to the public.
On May 1 at 12:30 p.m., the Spring Chorus and Jazz Ensemble Concert will be held featuring the chorus’ take on a number of classical selections as well as a piece by Irving Berlin. The jazz ensemble will perform music by Cab Calloway, Bobby Timmons, Hank Mobley and Average White Band.
On May 2 at 7:30 p.m., the Mid-Hudson Community Orchestra will perform music by John Philip Sousa, Tchaikovsky, Brahms and selections from “My Fair Lady.”
In addition, DCC students studying voice or instrumental performance will give a recital on May 12 at 7 p.m. featuring a wide variety of music from Broadway to classical to jazz and beyond.
