Acclaimed Opera Singer and Instrumentalist to Perform at DCC

September 18, 2013 – Opera singer Bavat Marom and composer and instrumentalist Ady Cohen will come to Dutchess Community College on Sept. 24 to perform a program of music called “I Wish to Be a Little Bird.” The show will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the James and Betty Hall Theatre in Dutchess Hall, and is free and open to the public; guests should park in lot D or E.

Marom, a mezzo soprano, and Cohen, who composes and plays guitar, are an internationally acclaimed duo who will perform a versatile repertoire ranging from the classical to the folkloric including operatic arias, lieder and folk-based art songs. A special part of their program brings to life the unusual richness of music along with Jewish cultural history and the yearning for peace in Israel.

The program is supported by the Jewish Federation of Dutchess County. For more information, contact DCC’s Office of Student Activities at (845) 431-8050.
