September 3, 2014 – The Music School at Dutchess Community College, part of the Office of Community Services, has named Laura G. Doe director.
“The Music School has nurtured my musicianship and teaching skills considerably over the years. Having taught at DCC since 2006, I am honored to serve the Music School in this capacity. I look forward to this coming year's creative endeavors.”
Doe has performed in over 30 theatrical and operatic productions and has taught music in various schools throughout New York state. She has directed the Music School’s Summer Music Institutes for the past two years. In addition, she has taught for the school’s Performing Arts Institute, Piano Institute and Guitar Institute and founded the Intergenerational Women’s Choir.
She holds a master’s degree in vocal performance and a bachelor’s degree in vocal music education from the Crane School of Music.
The Music School at Dutchess Community College has offered non-credit classes and lessons for children and adults since 1972.
