December 16, 2016 – Timmian Massie, senior vice president for Marketing, Public Affairs and Government Relations at Health Quest, was named to the Dutchess Community College Board of Trustees at its December meeting. His term will expire in 2021.
“DCC gave me my start and I am forever grateful and indebted to the school,” Massie said. “To give back via service on the college's board is an honor and a privilege I cherish. I look forward to working with my fellow trustees on behalf of the students, faculty, staff and alumni of this great institution.”
A 1978 graduate of DCC, Massie served as chief public affairs officer at Marist College for 17 years.
Known for his volunteerism in the community, Massie has earned several awards over the years from organizations including New Horizons Foundation, the Family Partnership Center, Dutchess ARC, Mill Street Loft, the Saint Cabrini Home and the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley. Earlier this year, he was named “Champion of Justice” by Legal Services of the Hudson Valley. Massie and his husband, Peter Clark, were named Dutchess County Family of the Year in 2012 by Family Services, Inc. They reside in the City of Poughkeepsie.
Massie received a bachelor's degree in political science from Fordham University. He undertook additional studies at Iona College, the North American College in Vatican City and the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Italy.
