Former Simon and Schuster Editor-in-Chief Korda to Lecture at DCC

April 4, 2013 – Michael Korda, the author and former editor-in-chief of Simon and Schuster, will come to DCC on April 12 for a lecture titled “The Art of Writing Memoirs and Autobiographies.”

The event will be held in room 122 of Bowne Hall at noon and is free and open to the public.

A resident of Dutchess County, Korda is the author of the biographies “Ulysses S. Grant: The Unlikely Hero” and “Ike: An American Hero.” He also has penned “Another Life,” “Horse People: Scenes from the Riding Life,” “Charmed Lives: A Family Romance” and many more books.

Over nearly five decades at Simon and Schuster, Korda published works by presidents Carter, Reagan and Nixon, Charles De Gaulle, Dr. Henry Kissinger, Mayor Ed Koch and the Duchess of York, celebrities including Cher, Phil Donahue, Kirk Douglas, Larry King and Shelley Winters, authors such as David McCullough, Richard Rhodes, Michael Beschloss, Cornelius Ryan, Larry McMurtry, Jacqueline Susann, Jackie Collins and Mary Higgins Clark.
