September 19, 2013 – Dutchess Community College’s Fire Science courses recently were awarded Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) recognition by the National Fire Academy of the U.S. Fire Administration, a division of FEMA.
The recognition not only signifies that DCC’s courses meet national standards, but it provides a model to ensure schools stay current with their fire science course information. In addition, FESHE-recognized courses easily transfer to many fire science programs at four-year schools.
“This recognition is a testament to the exceptional quality of the DCC fire science programs and the dedication and hard work of program chair Dave Walsh,” said Dr. José Adames, Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs.
DCC offers a Fire and Occupational Safety associate of science degree and a Fire Protection Technology associate in applied science degree. For more information about DCC’s Fire Science programs or courses, contact Dave Walsh, chair of DCC’s Fire Science program, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
