April 23, 2012 – The Dutchess Community College Louis Greenspan Day Care Center recently was named Dutchess County Center of the Year by the Child Care Council of Dutchess and Putnam, Inc.
The award committee cited the Center’s high standards of childcare, calling it “a wonderful learning environment.”
“This award is a testament to the nurturing learning environment created by our teachers,” said Day Care Center Director Carol Murray. “All of our teachers have degrees in early education and are chosen because of their commitment to children and families. We’re honored to have been recognized in such a meaningful way.”
Opened in 1975, the Care Center provides quality, affordable care to children of DCC students, staff and faculty. It serves as a research, observation and internship facility for students in DCC’s Early Childhood associate degree and Early Childhood Caregiver certificate programs.
The Child Care Council of Dutchess and Putnam, Inc. was created in 1970 as an advisory body to the Dutchess County government and is the New York State designated Child Care Resource and Referral agency for both Dutchess and Putnam counties.
