April 13, 2010 – The work of Andrew Cooks will be on display through April 30 in the Dutchess Community College Mildred I. Washington Art Gallery.
Cooks’ series, “Imagining the Garden,” consists of bright, colorful paintings on large canvases.
Originally from Sydney, Australia, Cooks is teaching studio courses in the Performing, Visual Arts and Communications Department at DCC. His work has been shown in galleries from Melbourne to Budapest.
The gallery is in the Allyn J. Washington Center for Science and Art on DCC’s Poughkeepsie campus. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The next exhibit begins May 10 and brings together sculptor Thomas Joyce and painter
