1 Feb 2010'Denunciation' Paintings by Renowned David Lax to be Exhibited
The widely recognized “Denunciation” series of paintings by David Lax has joined the permanent artwork collection at DCC. It will be displayed in the DCC Mildred I. Washington Art Gallery from Feb. 10 – 19, then housed in the College’s Hudson Hall.

A gospel concert, Kwanzaa celebration and dance exhibition are just a few of the events Dutchess Community College is offering to celebrate Black History Month. All activities will be held at DCC’s Poughkeepsie campus, 53 Pendell Rd., and are free and open to the public.

20 Jan 2010More Than $100,000 in Scholarships Available to DCC Students
The deadline is nearing for Dutchess Community College students to apply for $110,000 in scholarships offered by the College Foundation. The 150 scholarships are available to students who will be enrolled at DCC in the fall, as well as those who will transfer to four-year colleges.

Select works by students in Dutchess Community College fall 2009 art classes are on display in the College’s Mildred I. Washington Art Gallery until Jan. 29. The exhibit includes work in mediums including paint, ceramics, photography, graphic design and calligraphy.

The Board of Trustees of Dutchess Community College will hold a workshop session on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 beginning at 5:30 p.m. The session will be held in the Bowne Hall board room on the main DCC campus. The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees previously scheduled for 7 p.m. has been canceled.

Modern Dance Company to Visit DCC for Lyceum Program
Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – Linda Diamond & Company, an award-winning professional dance group, is coming to Dutchess Community College on October 15 at 12:30 p.m. in the James and Betty Hall Theatre on DCC’s main Poughkeepsie campus.
The group’s performances feature a multi-cultural dance repertoire combined with different visual themes to produce a show that appeals to all ages. A section from the award-winning DanceVisions of Picasso will be incorporated into the DCC performance.
Choreographer Linda Diamond has received several Dutchess County Arts Council Awards for her Woodstock Diamond Dance Festival projects.
The show is part of the College’s Lyceum series, and is free and open to the public.

Twin brothers David and Jonathan Bisson graduated first and second, respectively, in the 2009 graduating class of Pine Plains High School, and both have chosen to take advantage of the Charles E. and Mabel E. Conklin Scholarship for Academic Excellence offered by Dutchess Community College for students who have graduated in the top 10% of their high school class.
