January 20, 2010 –The deadline is nearing for Dutchess Community College students to apply for $110,000 in scholarships offered by the College Foundation. The 150 scholarships are available to students who will be enrolled at DCC in the fall, as well as those who will transfer to four-year colleges.
The application form can be found by visiting www.sunydutchess.edu, and going to the Scholarships link under the Foundation heading. There, students can view all of the available scholarships and fill out an application.
The scholarships range from $500 to $3,500, and are listed under the appropriate academic department, as well as in other categories such as Graduate Scholarships. Each donor has certain criteria that must be met, so scholarship applicants should make sure they are eligible before applying. Students may apply for more than one scholarship, but only one will be awarded.
The application deadline is March 5. Only currently enrolled students can apply for scholarships.
The DCC Foundation has awarded more than $800,000 in scholarships over the past 14 years.
