DCC's Masquers' Guild to Perform 'Psycho Beach Party'

Release date: February 21, 2008

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The Dutchess Community College Masquers’ Guild will present the Charles Busch play “Psycho Beach Party” Feb. 28 through March 1 at 8 p.m. and March 2 at 2 p.m.

The performance will take place in the James and Betty Hall Theatre in Dutchess Hall on the DCC main campus in Poughkeepsie.

The play focuses on Chicklet Forrest, a teenage tomboy who desperately wants to be part of the surf crowd on Malibu Beach in 1962. One thing getting in her way is her unfortunate tendency toward split personalities. When one of those personalities, a sultry seductress named Ann Bowman, becomes bent on world domination, it is up to the rest of the beach gang to figure out what caused Chicklet to develop those personalities in the first place.

Admission is free for DCC students, $5 for the general public.

For more information about the play, contact Department Head and Performing Arts Program Chair Joe Cosentino at 845-431-8618 or cosentin@sunydutchess.edu.
