Save the Date for DCC's 'Greening Your Business' Conference March 14

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. -- Dutchess Community College will host “Greening Your Business: The Case for Sustainability” on March 14 at 9 a.m.

              The goal of the program is to educate the Dutchess County business community on the benefits of environmentally sound, sustainable business practices, and provide a forum for business community members to share “green” success stories.

              A keynote address will be delivered by Darcy Hitchcock, author of “The Business Guide to Sustainability” and president of a consulting firm specializing in sustainable business practices implementation.

              Workshops held during the day will cover topics such as photovoltaics, waste management and sustainability, financial incentives, green cleaning and more.

              The sponsors for the conference are Dutchess Community College, Dutchess County, NYSERDA, Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation, Dutchess County IDA, Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, Greater Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce, The Poughkeepsie Journal, Dutchess County Economic Development Corporation, Kirchhoff Construction Management, Johnson Controls, the New York State Dormitory Authority and the Council of Industry.

              Founded in 1957, Dutchess Community College is a two-year community college celebrating its 50th anniversary of excellence and service to the residents of Dutchess County. It is part of the State University of New York and is one of 30 community colleges in the state system. The College offers a wide variety of associate degree programs, as well as career programs in major technical, human service and business areas. The College also offers non-credit courses to meet the continuing education needs of civic, cultural, business and professional groups and the community at large.
