Author and Professor to Give Presidential Leadership Lecture at DCC

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – Dutchess Community College will host author Robert Dallek on March 26 for a lecture entitled “Presidential Leadership in War and Peace.”

The presentation, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 7 p.m. in the James and Betty Hall Theatre in Dutchess Hall on DCC’s main campus in Poughkeepsie.

Dallek is one of the world’s premier authorities on the U.S. presidency, and has written award-winning books on Franklin D. Roosevelt, Lyndon B. Johnson, and John F. Kennedy. His latest work, published last year, is called “Nixon and Kissinger: Partners in Power.”

He is a professor of history at Boston University, and has previously taught at Columbia University, UCLA, and Oxford University. Dallek is also a frequent commentator on television and radio, having appeared on National Public Radio, CNN, and The Daily Show.

Founded in 1957, Dutchess Community College is a two-year community college celebrating its 50th anniversary of excellence and service to the residents of Dutchess County. It is part of the State University of New York and is one of 30 community colleges in the state system.
