DCC Offers Summer Kids’ Enrichment Academies

The Dutchess Community College Office of Community Services is offering Summer Kids’ Enrichment Academies, noncredit programs for students ages 5 through 12. Summer Kids’ Enrichment Academies, each with a different weekly theme, are held at two convenient locations – Taconic Hall at the DCC main campus in Poughkeepsie, and the Martha Lawrence site on Spackenkill Road in Poughkeepsie.

DCC Kids’ Enrichment Academies offer a unique environment in which children, counselors, and professional teachers join in an informal setting for a summer that is productive as well as fun. Students are encouraged to actively participate in a wide variety of educational and recreation activities for enrichment and enjoyment. Several hours per day will be devoted to instruction and projects related to the weekly theme. Academies are held Monday through Friday each week from July 2 through August 17. Programs run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., although to assist parents, the sites are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. for no additional fee. Enrollment is on a weekly basis.
