Fast WEB

FastWEB is a VERY user-friendly free database of more than 180,000 potential sources of student financial aid. Students enter demographic data and within fifteen minutes have a clear and concise listing of possible sources of financial aid. The site allows students to create a mailbox where the student is notified of potential sources of aid that become available after the initial scholarship search. Students who provide an email address will have scholarship updates automatically sent to their email address.

Financial Aid Information Page

The site offers some good links to college planning, special interests in financial aid, grants, government information, and so forth.

NYS Financial Aid Administrators Association (NYSFAAA)

The NYSFAAA site is a great choice for students who want basic information on New York State and federal student aid.Students can link to the free FastWEB scholarship search, the TAP application, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, and the Federal Student Aid Guide.

Student Guide Online

This site is an online version of the Student Financial Aid Guide put out by the Department of Education.

Fafsa on the Web

This is the site where you can fill out your FAFSA form on the web and also do renewals and changes to your Student Aid Report.

FASA4Caster

If you want to begin exploring your financial aid options and get an early start on the financial aid process, FAFSA4caster is for you! By using FAFSA4caster, you and your family will receive an early estimate of eligibility for federal student aid. This Web site provides you with an opportunity to increase your knowledge of the financial aid process; become familiar with the various types of federal student aid that are available; and investigate other sources of aid, such as grants and scholarships.

 

Wired Scholar

Wired Scholar is a free service that searches for scholarships that could be applicable for you.

ASA Direct

Students can go to the ASA Direct homepage to check on the status of their Stafford loan. Once you are on the home page, just click on the borrower loan access to find information on your loan.

Gear UP

The mission of GEAR UP is to significantly increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education. This site has information about this program.

Directory of Colleges and Universities

A list of colleges and universities in USA and information about them.

College Board

The mission of the College Board is to prepare, inspire, and connect students to college and opportunity. Its members include more than 3,800 schools, colleges, universities, and other educational associations.

Access America for Students

This is a student gateway to government sites.

Selective Service

This site allows you to register and see if you are registered for selective service.

IRS

This site has federal tax forms to download and answers to tax questions.

This site has forms for social security and question and answer pages.

This site is for Veterans who have GI benefits.
