Supported Education

The Supported Education Program is a campus-based program for students with a history of psychiatric disabilities who need ongoing support to successfully manage the college environment and reach their educational goals.

The program is sponsored by the Mental Health Association in Dutchess County (a United Way Agency), in colaboration with Dutchess Community College, Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID), and Dutchess County Department of Mental Hygiene. The services this program provides are:

  • Pre-semester Orientation
  • Assistance with admission, registration, and the financial aid process
  • Linkage with community agencies
  • Supportive Counseling
  • Facilitation of group/peer support
