Upon application for admission, St. Thomas Aquinas College agrees to accept ALL students who have earned their Associate of Science (A.S.) or Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree from SUNY Dutchess Community College after January 1, 2004 and transfer directly to St. Thomas Aquinas College. In addition to acceptance, students are guaranteed up to 65 – 70 transferable credits toward an applicable Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree at St. Thomas Aquinas College. Dutchess Community College Students who earn AA degrees in Liberal Arts & Sciences: Humanities and Social Sciences are considered as having met St. Thomas Aquinas College's general education requirements. And finally, students who have earned their degree from SUNY Dutchess Community College with a 3.00 Grade Point Average or above (on a 4.00 scale) will be awarded an Articulation Scholarship to cover a portion of tuition at St. Thomas Aquinas College. Housing on STAC’s campus will be available for DCC students who have been accepted for transfer into STAC.

This agreement will take effect for the students who earned their degree from SUNY Dutchess Community College after January 1, 2004. Those students who had earned A.A. or A.S. degrees from DCC prior to January 1, 2004 will also be considered for transfer into STAC on an individual basis. Students seeking state certification in Teacher Education cannot be guaranteed completion of their degree with 60 or so additional credits at St. Thomas Aquinas due to ever-changing state certification requirements. These students are encouraged to apply for admission and will be given full consideration on a case by case basis for admission and applicable transfer credit.
