A student from Dutchess Community College who has been accepted at Houghton College may transfer with the guarantee that his or her courses will fulfill given Houghton College requirements.
- Those Completing A.A. and A.S. Degrees
a. Students transferring to the main campus (Houghton, NY) – A student with an A.A. or A.S. degree will have satisfied all core requirements (Integrative Studies) for a Houghton College bachelor’s degree except two courses, Biblical Literature and Introduction to Christianity. Students who transfer at least 60 hours that are applicable toward a bachelor’s degree will automatically be classified as juniors.
- The transcript of a student who has earned an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree, or accumulated credits at Dutchess Community College but have not earned a degree, will be evaluated course-by-course to determine which Houghton College integrative studies, major and minor requirements have been met.
- Courses Acceptable for Transfer – Following a transcript review by Houghton College, courses (other than technical or vocational courses) in which the grade earned is C- or higher and which do not total (except for P.A.C.E.) more than 67 semester credit hours are acceptable for transfer.
- This agreement does not guarantee acceptance to Houghton College. Each applicant’s record will be reviewed by the Houghton College Admission Committee.
