Congratulations on taking the first step to make your dream of a college education come true. The decision to return to formal education is life-changing for most adult students. You will be interested to note that many returning adult students ask themselves the same questions:
There is no escaping the fact that some adjustments will have to be made to your schedule, but the benefits of not letting your dream of a college degree wait another year will far outweigh any challenges that come your way. Available Support Services New Directions advisors are trained to assist you with educational planning, enrollment, course selection, and creating a schedule. They continue to provide advisement throughout your years at DCC. The program offers special receptions and informal seminars on topics which pertain to adult learners and their academic success, such as time management and study skills. You will have opportunities to meet with faculty, staff, and experienced adult students who will assist you in maximizing your college experience. The College’s Advising Center has hours in the evening, Monday through Thursday to further assist you in your college education. Counseling and Career Services Office Hours
