If you are detail oriented, compassionate and enjoy working with people, consider a career as a pharmacy technician. Pharmacy technicians work in retail drug stores, compounding pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, home infusion and long term care pharmacies. Our program will prepare you to pass the CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) exam which will hasten your opportunities for promotion within the industry.
Students will learn how to assist the pharmacist in electronic data entry of prescriptions and select medications to be dispensed. They will also learn to count pills, calculate exact doses as well as compounding of intravenous and topical pharmaceutical products. Some of our students already work in the industry and are looking for certification but the majority are looking to break into the medical industry. For some, our certification program is the first step in working towards a degree program in the field.
