Maurice Onani --The New York State Sheriffs' Association Annual Scholarship

Mr. Onani is an excellent student who has been accepted to Northeastern University to pursue a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. He maintained a 3.59 cumulative point average and was President of the Criminal Justice Club at D.C.C. Maurice was born in Tanzania, has traveled extensively, speaks English, French, Italian, Spanish, and Swahili. Upon receiving his baccalaureate, he hopes to enter law school.

 

Wendi Moffitt --The New York State Sheriffs' Association Annual Scholarship

Ms. Wendi Moffitt is an excellent student, maintaining a 3.6 grade point average. She is a personable, mature, well organized individual with a high sense of obligation and responsibility. She is well organized, completes assignments on time, more often than not exceeding the requirements and demonstrates a high degree of motivation in all her undertakings. Her commitment to achieving in the field of criminal justice can be seen in her work and willingness to help others.  Wendi intends to attend Marist college upon graduation and pursue a baccalaureate degree in criminal justice. Her career goal is to become a Probation Officer. She has the unanimous recommendation of the criminal justice faculty for the award of this scholarship.

 

Nadim Nasr --The New York State Sheriffs' Association Annual Scholarship

Mr. Nasr  will be pursuing his undergraduate degree at Utica College, N.Y. in the field of white collar/computer crime.  He has a quiet intensity and dedication to his studies that will serve him well during his academic career. He has maintained a 3+ grade point average while at DCC and has the full support the criminal justice faculty. Mr. Nasr has also indicated that he would like to obtain his masters degree in a related field of study.

 

 

Sheena White

New York State Chiefs Association-2001

Sheena White is a second year criminal justice major with a 3.75 G.P.A. She is the current vice president of The Criminal Justice Club. Next fall she plans to transfer to The John Jay College of  Criminal Justice in Manhattan and major in forensic psychology. Sheena hopes to someday work as a criminal profiler for the  F.B. I.

WELCOME TO THE CRJ CLUB HOMEPAGE

 

Believe it or not there IS a Criminal Justice Club at Dutchess Community College! We welcome you to join our club and expand your horizons. Among other things, we host interesting guest speakers Involved in various Criminal Justice-related careers. We go on field trips to every kind of criminal justice facility Such as jails, courthouses, and other points of interest. We also participate in club affairs held by the college.

 

Our meetings are usually scheduled for Thursday afternoons at 12:30 p.m. in Taconic Hall Room 305.

All meetings are casual and open to everybody! So even if your major isn’t Criminal Justice (shame on you!) you’re still just as welcome to Join.
